Letters to a First Year Teacher – A Compliation

Letters to a First Year Teacher – A Compliation

In light of the fact that the CI 403 group is starting placements tomorrow, I wanted to showcase this link for a great read. These are letters composed by 19 teachers from various subjects and addressed to all first year teachers. Although we still have some time before we begin our official first year of teaching, the advice and inspiration that these teachers write will still hold great meaning for us. There are also some hilarious moments that make it super engaging and enjoyable to read.

And of course, you can access it in Google Doc form. Or a pdf form if you prefer I suppose.

Although this compilation has a ton of great quotes (and you should post your favorites as a comment), one of the ones that stuck out to me was, “I have never witness a great teacher who is reluctant to change.” Happy reading! Oh, and good luck tomorrow! Don’t worry about being awesome! (Another quote from one of the letters just to give you another reason to read these)
